Leslieville Century Home Reimagined
This quaint little centre hall cottage was converted from a small one-and-a-half-story home with a country kitchen on the rear to a spectacular modern two-story sustainable downtown home for two.
Interior finishes are chic but rustic with polished concrete floors throughout the main floor, open steel and wood stairs, and a magnificent weathered steel wood-burning fireplace in the open living and dining area. The master suite encompasses most of the new second floor with a gas fireplace built-in separating a sitting area, a luxurious ensuite bathroom with a private soaker tub, huge organized walk-in closets, and additional storage rooms under the sloped roof.
The entire home was built with energy efficiency as the primary focus. Triple glazed windows, R35 wall insulation, and an air-tight building envelope result in a space that is as comfortable and efficient as it is beautiful. The lot, larger than most in the neighbourhood, accommodates a large backyard oasis with a water feature and natural plantings which is separated from parking and the laneway by a trellis-covered sitting area with a fireplace.
