This 100 year old Rosedale home was partially renovated in the 1980’s, leaving it structurally compromised. SevernWoods Construction gutted the main floor and basement, removed the rear structural wall on the first floor, underpinned the brick and limestone foundation walls and inserted 24 steel beams and posts to hold up the house and addition without affecting the upper floors. A mature maple required the rear addition to be cantilevered over the root structure. The finished renovation leaves an open concept main floor with heated floors, steel and glass main staircase, and a semi-circular wall of exterior glass in the family room.
